•NOTE ON Edition Taube•

Edition Taube was founded in 2009 by Jonas Beuchert, Tilman Schlevogt and Jan Steinbach in Stuttgart. Specialized in contemporary fine arts and new positions on paper, this young publishing house creates editions, artist books and zines in small print runs. The artists represented by Edition Taube are among others Friedemann Heckel, Olga Koroleva, Raphael Linsi, Ella Littwitz, Sener Özmen, Peekasso, Christian Rothmaler, Celia Sidler, Stefan Sulzer, Erik van der Weijde and Pedro Wirz. During the exhibition selected publications will be shown and can be purchased in the temporary bookstore. The project specially conceived for this presentation, »44 galleries«, introduces an ironic perspective on the forty-four hosts of Berlin’s gallery weekend and the incalculable art market within an infographic analysis. Its common rankings and portals are reference systems which deny cultural exchange and diversity due to their market orientation, non-transparency and their focus on single agents. A team of designers, artists and curators collected materials from forty-four Berlin based galleries to visualize and intertwine public information, secret knowledge and subjective expert estimations. The project is accompanied by a publication and interventions in public space.
